Privacy policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what personal information [legal business name — to be completed] ("Maacdow", "we") collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. It applies to this website only. Work we do for clients is governed by the agreement signed with each client.
Who is responsible
[legal business name — to be completed] operates this website from Montréal, Québec, Canada.
The person responsible for the protection of personal information is [name of privacy officer — to be completed], [title — to be completed]. You can reach them at [privacy contact email — to be completed].
What we collect
Inquiry form. When you submit the form, we receive your name, your work email, your company name if you provide it, and the message you write. Please do not include sensitive or confidential information in your first message.
Email. If you write to us directly, we receive your email address and the content of your message.
Technical logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may record standard request data such as IP address, browser type and time of access in order to deliver and secure the site.
This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers or non-essential cookies. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
How we use it
We use the information you send to reply to your inquiry, to assess whether we can help, and to keep a record of our exchange if it leads to a working relationship.
We do not sell personal information, add you to a mailing list without asking, or use your inquiry for marketing. No decision about you is made solely by automated processing.
Consent
By submitting the form or emailing us, you consent to the use described above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting the person named above; we will then stop using your information and delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
How long we keep it
Inquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within 24 months of our last exchange. Information connected to a client relationship is kept for the duration of that relationship and for as long afterwards as tax and legal obligations require.
Security
Access to inquiries is limited to the people who need it to respond. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the affected people and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec as the law requires.
Your rights
Under Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, you may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, withdraw your consent, or ask that it be deleted or no longer disseminated where the law provides for it.
Send your request to the person responsible named above. We respond in writing within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
